The Taranaki Toy Library has over 1500 toys available for hire to provide young children with learning through play experiences.  When you become a member of the Toy Library, you are not only reducing your waste and plastic footprint, you are affordably able to choose up to seven toys / puzzles / games every two weeks that will set children on the right course for the future.  Play is a fun and critical stage of early development and we are ready and waiting to help!

Membership options start at less than $2 per week. Guaranteed to delight, entertain and distract, you will always have the right toy at hand for any child from approx six months to five years old. We also have a few toys for older siblings and are more than happy to offer guidance to make sure you are getting the most out of your experience..

Early play opportunities are part of a child’s first steps towards their education and development. Our range of safe, educational, fun toys and resources are there to inspire and promote creative and active play for children in the Taranaki region.  Evidence shows that a child’s experience in the first 1,000 days of life can have a greater impact on a child’s life trajectory than any other period of life, with between the ages of four and six a second peak in brain and skill development.  The library collection is regularly updated with new toys and resources based on the feedback we receive from our members, new items to the market and advice from behavioural experts.

Climbers, Slides, roller coasters, water tables, Duplo, activity centres, train sets, ride-ons, magnetic and STEM sets, music sets and much much more…
